We will be upgrading the operating system and installing more disk storage capacity. All services on BCF and its compute nodes will be affected. Please plan accordingly. It is still not available to users because I have yet to restore users accounts and home directories. The /home partition is quite large, approximately 600 GB and will take overnight to restore from backups. Beginning tomorrow I will be configuring the system, enabling user accounts/home directories, configuring MySQL databases, etc... System Changes (and whats new): Linux kernel 2.6.22.14 with the latest Lustre filesystem patches Rocks 5.1 operating system (based on CentOS5 U2) Lustre 1.6.7.1 6 TB (Terabytes) of local disk storage What is currently *NOT* working: Grid submission system Local compute nodes User Accounts (and $HOME directories) MySQL (including CAUMA and the LIMS system) Apache web server VNC services It will take approximately 1-2 days to completely configure the system so thank you for your patience in this matter. -- Jeremy Mann jeremy at biochem.uthscsa.edu University of Texas Health Science Center Bioinformatics Core Facility http://www.bioinformatics.uthscsa.edu Phone: (210) 567-2672
