Advanced informatics of phage/viral genes; bacteriophage
therapy; microbial communities; prophage genes and their role in bacterial
phenotypes; phage/virus detection, characterization, purification, and
evolution; and other topics to be announced.

$275 per person, covering meals (other than breakfast) and
entertainment, but not lodging.

If registering after the April 1 deadline, the late registration
fee will be $350 per person.

Abstracts

Should fit on one page including any figures, with 1 inch
margins, single spaced, 12 point font, and including title, authors, address
in the following general format. [prototype
abstract] Please underline the author who will present the talk or poster.

Everyone who wishes to speak and/or present a poster will
please submit at least a preliminary abstract by April 1 by e-mail to Deborah
Yrle (yrle@uthscsa.edu). Please indicate a preference for
poster and/or a platform presentation.

Posters will be on display throughout the meeting.
- Poster boards will be 4 x 6 feet.
- Oral presentations will be 10-15 minutes in length with a question period. The talks do not have a fixed format. Computers suitable for projecting powerpoint presentations will be available, and this is the preferred mode of presentation. A 2x2 slide projector will also be available.

Make your reservations to fly to the Corpus Christi airport.
- Some attendees have reported that round trip airfare from their location to Corpus Christi is much higher than to Houston. In this case, you may save some money by independently booking a second round trip from Houston to Corpus Christi. The cost is about $124 for Continental Air and $134 for Southwest. Alternatively, if you decide to fly to Houston and drive to Kingsville, the driving distance is 255 miles.

Shuttle service from the Corpus Christi Airport to the Roadway Inn will be available from
Star Shuttle for a fee.

Unification of
Virology through structure: from bacteriophages to viruses infecting humans.
Schedule: Each day/evening of the conference
will have two work sessions and one entertainment session. The entertainment
sessions
will consist of two evening concerts, one country western
and one mariachi, and a day tour of the King Ranch.
