PhageD comparison to Staph phageK.

The figure below was created by taking the gene tracks from Bio::Graphics and marking them up
with a paint program.  Only the 80 Kb region where StaphK parallels phageD is shown.  The confinement of this pattern to just part of phageD indicates some large scale modular reassortment between these two phages.  Within the region, there is obviously a substantially similarly organized common ancestor as of 0.5 Bya.  However, there are smaller scale indels (insertions or deletions) in evidence at many places.  Some of the apparent mosaicism is false as discussed in the next section.
Black marks indicate relationships obvious in a general Blast search, and red marks generally indicate where something more had to be done to find or clarifiy the relationship.

PhageD is on top;  Staph. phage K is on the bottom.
