What's Burning in the Kitchen?

Protein (& fiber) brownies


You will need 2 eggs, 1/4 cup oil (olive or canola), 1 cup milk (I use soy milk), 1 tsp vanilla, 1 cup protein powder, 1-1/2 cups non-fat dry milk, 3-1/2 cups oats. Mix all ingredients and spread in 13 x 9 baking dish. Bake at 325°F for 25 minutes. We like ours with chocolate, so either melt some 60% cocoa in the milk before mixing (of course, allowing it to cool beforehand) or mix in chips after combining. (more)

Diet & Exercise

Proper food intake will help people attain a healthier, leaner body. I'm just not sure I want to cut out carbs totally, although I do know from first-hand experience, reducing carbs, especially sugar, will allow weight loss. As our endocrinologist said "If it's white, don't eat it". That's means bleached flour, sugar, potatoes, and rice. Personally, I believe in losing the sugar, most of the flour and rice and potatoes. Portion control, folks! Look at me, a svelte 6'2", 250 pounder, so it works. That's me in the back!
